Adding Curb Appeal To Your Home To Sell Your House Fast

Posted on October 29, 2022

You’ve got a beautiful home, with a stunning pool and landscaping, but is it the kind of home that will sell? You can add curb appeal to your house in just several hours for about $40-60. From vinyl siding to decking and light fixtures, you can make your house look like it has never been lived in by sprucing up the exterior. But before you start painting or adding accessories, there are certain upgrades that must be made first. You can visit https://www.texascashhousebuyer.com/ to see more.

Exterior Doors

Your front door makes a big impact on your curb appeal. Before you prime it and paint it, consider replacing the door with one made of fiberglass or metal. These options are supposed to be more durable than traditional doors and will help sell your house fast. Replace all of your exterior doors, if possible, so that they are uniform.

Windows

If your home has double-hung windows or bowed windows, replace them with energy efficient vinyl or metal frames that need no painting. Vinyl frames also leave the option to change the color of your windows as often as desired, though some vinyl frames only come in a few colors. Metal frames usually come in bronze, black and white finishes. If you live in an area where it gets very cold or hot, consider replacing your windows with double-paned ones that insulate better against extreme temperatures. Your goal is to sell your home quickly and effectively; therefore, replacing all of your windows is a good idea.

Exterior Cement

If you are painting the exterior of your home (you should be), then use cement board siding instead of wood siding. Cement board siding resists water damage and is more resistant to termites. If you can afford the additional cost, consider the cement board with Styrofoam insulation, which will block even more heat from your home in summer and keep it warm in winter.

Concrete Foundation

If you use wood for your foundation, be sure to waterproof it before painting. If you don’t want to pay for an extensive waterproofing job that also includes painting, then ask about using cement shingles instead. These shingles are a good option because they look like wood and are more effective than untreated wood against environmental damage.
